I'm kind of wondering who sold my information to Poets & Writers?
That's a rhetorical question as obviously none of you can answer it. But seriously, yesterday the only mail I got was this "Preferred Writer" subscription rate for Poets & Writers Magazine. Now, for the record I understand Poets & Writers is a great investment for writers, but it's not my investment because the sort of information I need can be easily acquired online for free and with a lot more volume.
And that's not to say it isn't a great deal, apparently a magazine subscription for the year is $35.70 and the rate I would pay would be $9.95 for the year, great deal but...that's also $9.95 I could put toward printing costs ect., so thanks but no thanks. Anyway, that's beside the point because 1. I'm not a published writer so that's definitely not where they got my information and 2. I've never had subscription, submitted, or done anything to draw Pets & Writers attention, so obviously someone sold my information.
Oh well, I guess in the grand scheme of things getting one junk letter in twenty years isn't unreasonable, just a little confusing since I know my school can't legally give out that information.
So, that's all for today, I feel strangely validated but like I should let someone know...I'm umm...not really a writer that deserves to get a $25.75 savings, but I'd imagine they already know that, and hey economic crises do this to businesses. But just for the record, wait until you get your "Preferred Writer Discount" junkmail before you get a subscription to this
